Project Narrative
A drainage system for Vientiane capital of Laos is a river, wetland, waterway and pump station etc. that discharges rainwater from the downtown area to the Mekong River including Natural and artificial facilities such as waterways, pipelines, and pump stations. Mekong river is main drainage channel of Vientiane capital of Laos.
For the Mekong River where the rate of river flow is severe, embankment and reinforcement for Mekong river are being carried out through a comprehensive riverside management project. However, Due to lack of drainage function, a wide flood area has occurred in the downtown area.
Government of Laos has chosen the drainage system improvement project master plan for Vientiane capital of Laos among the top priorities and has efforts to improve the living environment for the residents.
Therefore, the purpose of the Project is an establishment of the master plan of drainage system improvement for Vientiane capital of Laos including the cost estimate roughly for the Project.
