Project Narrative

 Savannakhet is achieving rapid economic growth now. In the period of rapid growth in such, urban planning must be done carefully yet boldly. Urban plan will play an important role to prevent this economic growth end in a short time but rather make it sustainable. Cities are expanding with economic growth in Savannakhet. However, if you let the city expand without a proper urban plan, the functions of the city will be declined, urban environment will be deteriorated, and the growth will be no longer continued. It is necessary to lead the city to multi-core model with various urban functions rather than a single-core expansion model. With proper urban plan, you can make it possible and it will lead to sustainable development of the society.
Purposes of the project:
 The Project aims to develop a conceptual plan for the administration center area and the surrounding area in the town with consideration of future growth and natural conditions in and around the city. As well as development of disaster management plans and programs to diminish the vulnerability of their population to the effects of natural and man-made hazards. Lao Government is focus to build a comprehensive risk reduction culture and strengthen their disaster management capabilities by improving response and recovery management at all levels.
