Project Narrative

This specification shall be applied to the Traffic management in the Pilot Project for the Project on Sustainable Urban and Traffic management inLuang Prabang, Lao PDR . The Services, as part of the Project, include the Traffic management, parking management and parking facility setting, managed by the contractor.

The purpose is:
-To have a proper traffic management for the implementation of traffic calming street along with supporting public transport system.
-To conduct Park & Ride trial as a trial initiative using Thatluang park to evaluate to feasibility of P&R system.

Parking and Traffic Management
– Deploy adequately trained personnel, including security staff, to manage parking areas and ensure smooth traffic flow in high-demand zones during the pilot project.
– Designate staff to monitor and regulate parking to prevent the disordered and unauthorized usage
– Coordinate with local authorities, bus operators, and other stakeholders to facilitate bus route operations and mitigate traffic congestion near bus stops, terminals, and parking areas.
– Provide on-ground assistance to guide vehicles especially during peak hours and improve user experience
– Regularly evaluate the performance of human resource deployment and adjust roles as needed to optimize efficiency
