Project Description:

The 450 Year Road Project was built along the periphery of the Laotian capital, Vientiane, linking the national highway with the Thai border. The project will develop an area along 450 Year Anniversary  Road. It covers a space of 5,750 ha. The purpose of the project is the characteristic industrial structure that will lead future growth for Laos is clearly defined, the coexistence urban condition of natural conservation and development is planned based on the separately-formulated Vientiane capital master plan, the landscape plan is planed consideration of the disaster prevention for entire area of capital city.

In this project, the Consultant will develop detailed planning scale 1/2,000 of 450th Anniversary Road Area in Vientiane Capital, aiming at the very first Eco-friendly and sustainably urbanised capital city in South East Asia which will become the successful model for urban development countrywide. Under this project, the services will be performed under two stages; Phase 1 and 2.

In Phase 1, the existing conditions of the 450th Anniversary Road area will be analysed based on the existing survey findings (at a scale of 1/5,000) and by carrying out field surveys. Then, a conceptual plan will be drawn up based on the survey map scaled 1/5,000.

4. Establishment on development concept (planning policy)

5. Study of key indicator

6. Zoning plan and conceptual land use plan (1/5,000)

7. Establishment of infrastructure planning policy

8. Perspective drawing (bird-eye view)

In Phase 2, surveys (at a scale of 1/2,000) will be performed to learn about the existing conditions of the area and to verify the challenges identified in the conceptual plan drawn up in Phase 1. Then, a land use plan at a scale of 1/2,000 will be made.
