Project Name: Detail Urban Planning of Nongping in Vientiane Capital

Project Description
      It is forecasted that the population of Vientiane Capital will increase to 1, 400, 000 by Year 2030, and the urban area will be expanding in response to this trend, it is crucial to develop new urban area to support this growing population.

      Urban area is the place to attract many people and is the centre of economic, industrial and cultural activity. At the same time urban area yet needs to co-exist with natural environment.

     In this project, the consultant will develop detailed planning scale 1/2000 of of Nongping area aiming at the first eco friendly and sustainably urbanized capital city in the South East Asia which will become the successful model for urban development countryside.

I. Survey and Conceptual Planning

1) Survey

– To examine the survey results including control point survey, topographic survey, leveling;

2) Resource acquisition, analysis and assessment of existing condition;

– To collect following data in cooperation with local consultant

II. Detailed plan and urban design

1) land use plan

– To establish the classification of land use

– Make survey map

2) Architectural and landscape layout plan

– To prepare drawings of architectural and landscape layout

3) Infrastructure plan

– Traffic plan: study the road network in the project area

– Land development plan: establish ground elevation in consideration of safety for flood control

– Rainwater drainage plan: study route, structure, size and gradient of main drainage facilities in the project area

– To establish Water supply plan, power supply and communication plan, sewage water drainage plan, solid waste treatment plan

4) Phased development plan and strategic environmental impact assessment
